MACHINE DESIGN FEATURES
Loading Frame
1.The Equipment will be of Rigid Frame in 2-column
construction .Thecolumns are polished and Hard chromium
plated.
2.Threaded column will be motor driven for quick effortless
adjustment of lower crosshead to facilitate rapid fixing of test
specimen.
3.A safety feature is provided that the hydraulic grips cannot
be opened or closed when the test is running.
4.Crosshead will be open type.
Hydraulic Power Unit
1.Hydraulic Power Unit will be of silent type with submersible
pump motor, noise level 68 dB or less.
2.Cooling Mechanism for Hydraulic Power Packis provided
3.Hydraulic wedge action Grips control will be provided
withselector switches indicating clamp & de-clamp and null
positions.
4.Hydraulic Power Unithave relief valve to limit system

Grips and Fixtures
1. Grips will be Hydraulic Wedge Grips with facility of easy
access of specimen insertion and adjustable markers on the
flat faces for accurate centering of specimen.
2. Suitable Jaw faces for Flat specimen of at least60 mm width
for gripping Flat specimen of thickness 0 - 30 mm.
3. Suitable jaw faces forRound specimen up to 10-40 mm
diameter.
Load System
1. Capable of different measuring ranges by selecting the range
selection knob.
2. An overload trip switch shall be incorporated which,
automatically cuts the pump motor when the load range in
use is exceeded.
Straining Unit
1. The Lower cross-head will be connected with two screwed
columns which will be driven by a motor. Axial loading of the
ram will be ensured by relieving the cylinder and ram of any
possible side loading by the provision of ball seating.
2. A displacement scale will be with a minimum graduation of 1
mm should be provided to measure the deformation of the
specimen.
3. Operating temperature will be from 5 ⁰C to 50⁰C.
4. Accuracy will be as per ISO 9513:1989 Class 1.
Control Panel
1. The Control Panel will consist of a Power Pack complete with
Drive motor and Oil tank, control valves and electronic display
unit.
2. Control panel will be window based screen display with
printing connectivity.
3. Safe operation will be ensured with means of safety devices.
4. The control system is auto-tuning.
5. Pressure transducer will be fully enclosed and protected.
6. Control Panel is capable of working at room temperature up
to 50 degreecentigrade and 60 - 85% relative humidity, etc.
7. The hydraulic Grip will be Electronically controlled with
appropriate safety precautions.
Software
1.Basic features like set-up and configuration of display screen
and control panel, set-up limits and gain controls, report
generation template, extensive graphics on screen for curve
plotting, live runtime test plots with automatic scaling and
zoom in/out, saving and retrieval of test methods and data,
example test methods.
2.Software: Has complete test suite comprising of Tension test,
Compression test and Bend test, shear test etc. as per
relevant IS/ISO/ASTM.
3.For static test: A software package for the tensile testing of
metallic materials to National and International standards for
the determination of yield stress, proof stress, tensile
strength,upper yield point, lower yield point, % R of A and
elongationetc. as per relevant IS/ISO/ASTM.
4.Test methods is easily and quickly constructed using series of
configuration steps within the software.
5.Software will be window based for online graph on PC,
comparison, Data analysis, Statistic, Point tracing,
superimposing graphs to compare with standard, zooming
graphs with different units selection for load & displacement.
6.Has data Entry facility of test parameter including pre-load,
rupture % safe load & specimen data.
